ARTISTS
Isabelle Fleay
Isabelle is 22 years old and has lived in Perth since 2020, originally from the coastal town of Geraldton! She has always had a great passion for art where she was first inspired to create as young as 6 years old! Over the years she began to paint the Geraldton lighthouse with acrylics and got private lessons on the side to increase her skills! She enjoyed art during school where some of her works got selected to be displayed in galleries! After high school as she moved to Perth she began to develop her artistic talents and dive into watercolours and that was her happy place! Painting outlined portraits, animals like turtles, whales, elephants and more, flowers and bumble bees and all sorts - she loved the flow and tranquility that comes from watercolour painting. She is also experienced in texture art where she has many works of coastal paintings on her Instagram account @loveizzy.designs!

If she's not painting a new textured landscape or a watercolour piece, she's reading her beloved fantasy books or hanging out with friends! (Besides working her 9-5 that is!) She also loves teaching where she currently working with kids and would love for people of all ages to come along to her first few lessons over the next couple of months to show your support!

When I painted this picture I wasn't aiming for a particular outcome. I just went with what I felt at the time, this image represents the subconscious and how our minds are so powerful. Most of my work I initially think of an idea, but I don't stress about the outcome. Art to me is suppose to be a journey, So I don't really think too hard about what the end product will be. I used water colour paints, watercolour pencils, water colour texts and glitter gel pens.Painted in Rockingham WA :)

I painted a wash of greys and a little brown. I used my brush to outline the elephant with negative painting. I used a stencil and watercolour pencil sanded over it to make the bush areas. Starting at the eyes helps with measuring the position of other parts of the elephant.

I painted this for a challenge posted on the Art by Paul Clark FB group page. The reference photo was taken in Devonshire, England. I used a Bee Paper sketchbook and miscellaneous paints. I?ve been working on learning dry brush technique in watercolor for a while I I think I?ve finally mastered it as evidence by the trees in this one.
